Sociedad Comercializadora de Equipos y Maquinarias SCEM LTDA. is a company formed in 1998, seeking to provide technical solutions to industry problems, specifically related to mechanical power transmission, with a focus on reducing the time spent on maintenance and provide its customers with greater availability of that resource for other tasks. With this as its main objective, SCEM during these 25 years of history has integrated several prestigious factories worldwide to its list of represented with exclusivity; and at the same time different services, for example: manufacturing of mechanical parts and pieces, precision machining and maintenance of equipment. In this last point, SCEM has successfully executed a series of projects, including hydraulic tensioners for conveyor belts for the mining company Zaldivar of the AMSA group and special braking systems for ports, developing these from the engineering phase to the assembly at the place of operation. SCEM also maintains a series of maintenance contracts with the main mining companies in the country, in its branch in Antofagasta and in its head office in Santiago. SCEM has maintained a sustained growth during the last years, generating the need to increase its staff for the Projects Department, due to the increase in the requirements received from its clients. In addition to this, a series of investments have been made in its Antofagasta branch (SCEM Service) in order to keep it equipped to serve the main customers in the area, and a new line of business has been incorporated, providing industrial cleaning solutions with a strong ecological focus through SCEM ECO biotechnology.
