The Secretary of State invited to participate in the mining exhibition to be held between April 24 and 27, 2023, and which projects more than US$ 1 billion in business and 50 thousand visitors. The event represents an opportunity for business relations and to present to the mining industry the largest international mining exhibition and congress in Latin America. The Minister of Mining, Marcela Hernando, headed the launch of the 17th international exhibition and congress, Expomin 2023, an event that will bring together the main exponents of the mining sector in Chile next year between April 24 and 27 at the new Fisa Park, located at Km. 16 of Route 68, in the district of Pudahuel. Sponsoring institutions participated in the launching of the event, among which the following stand out: Aprimin, Sonami, Cochilco, Sernageomin, Corfo, Invest Chile, Pro Chile, Consejo Minero, Aprmin, Minnovex, Cesco, Corporación Alta Ley, Fundación Chile, Instituto Ingenieros de Mina de Chile, H2 Chile, Women in Mining and Acades. Minister Hernando, honorary president of Expomin 2023, highlighted that “most mining fairs focus on new technologies, equipment and industrial development. On this occasion, the idea is to innovate with those things that society and the world demand; having the opportunity to incorporate issues related to the energy transition, environmental care, mining safety, linkage with communities, as well as the opportunity to incorporate small miners, together with the development of large mining. It seems to me that Expomin presents an excellent opportunity for the protagonists of mining in Chile and the world”. Along these lines, Hernando indicated that “we have exchanged some ideas on the basis that is being prepared and it seems to me that the work will be expeditious, it is based on a solid foundation, which means being the most important mining country in Latin America. We want to continue to be so, and that is why we are working to make this fair a success and a meeting point for the mining world”. For his part, the executive director of Expomin, Francisco Sotomayor, pointed out that “with 32 years of experience, today we are launching a new 2023 version of the main mining event in Latin America, which seeks to connect all the actors in the industry for its development and strengthening”. Likewise, Sotomayor indicated that “from Expomin we want to contribute to the generation of employment, promoting economic recovery and the development of the industry. It will be a platform of opportunities of international scope for Chile and the world, which will take place in our events center Parque Fisa, the largest fairground in Santiago with more than 230 thousand square meters”. The XVII International Mining Exhibition and Congress, organized by Fisa of the GL events Group, will have an extensive program of activities with active participation of mining companies, suppliers of high technological capacity, start up and key institutions that are part of the mining ecosystem. Chile maintains a great attraction for mining projects, being among the 10 countries that concentrate the largest investments in mining exploration. With the presence of more than a thousand brands and exhibitors from 35 countries, including Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Peru, the United States, Spain and Brazil, among others, the presence of more than 50 thousand professional visitors is estimated. It is also projected that more than US$ 1 billion in business will be transacted during the event. INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS Expomin 2023 will develop in parallel its International Congress, an instance that will allow the exchange of information of the sector, with the participation of panelists from government, industry and companies specialized in mining, who will present their projects, operations, and the opportunities and challenges in Chile and the region. The congress will cover the main strategic issues of the sector, including new technologies and equipment for the development of mining; challenges for project development; green mining; automation and digitization; investments, projects and business opportunities; and challenges around human capital.
