In anticipation of EXPOMIN 2023, the center of global mining in Chile; Gtd, a telecommunications and IT solutions company, with more than 40 years of history and international presence; will participate in this fair where it will exhibit the solutions it offers to the mining industry to configure itself as a technological ally to achieve the ESG (Environment, Social and Corporate Governance) criteria required by companies in the sector, in addition to the security standards necessary to protect information. ESG criteria refer to environmental, social and corporate governance factors that are taken into account when investing in a company. Although their origin dates back two decades, in recent years they have become the benchmark for socially responsible investment (SRI) and today they are extremely important to ensure the profitability of the company itself. According to a PWC study (2021), mining companies with high ESG ratings obtained a 34% average total shareholder return over the last three years, equivalent to ten percentage points higher than the overall market rate. Gtd’s offer in IT solutions is an enabler for the future, both to comply with the best operationalization of on-site processes and to meet the increasingly important governance and environmental standards demanded by investors in the sector. Specific innovative solutions in areas such as OT/IT telecommunications engineering applied to the mining process, with a staff of professionals specialized in mining; industrial networking; cybersecurity focused on DCS and electrical SCADA systems; in addition to SOC services; sound, automation, measurement and process monitoring; as well as Modular Data Center, are part of the solutions, among others. On the other hand, it is extremely important to protect the company’s most valuable assets, data and information. For that, Gtd has its Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, CyberSOC, which works as an ecosystem, focused on preventing attacks, through security and infrastructure monitoring; detecting, through vulnerability and security management; and protecting, with centralized security platforms and in the cloud, among others. Nicolás Pérez, Gtd’s Deputy Commercial Manager for Mining, indicates that “Given the social and economic context and a roadmap for mining 4. 0, in addition to the ESG criteria that guide investors and that have improved the sustainability of the sector, but also its net profitability; it is important to work with a technology, such as the one offered by Gtd, that works as a strategic ally of the mining sector to collaborate with the improvement in operational decision making in the environmental and social aspects, and the certainty of having the best data protection and cybersecurity with CyberSOC”. Adding Value with IBM Security QRadar XDR With the purpose of strengthening its value proposition in Cybersecurity, Gtd has expanded its commercial alliance with the multinational technology company IBM, to now add to its portfolio the IBM Security QRadar XDR software, the most open and complete threat detection and response solution in the industry, which eliminates even the most advanced threats faster. It is an open and connected security suite that uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, a global leader in cybersecurity.
