More than 30 years of history, a strategic showcase for the entire mining value chain and a key instance to boost the economy. Expomin will celebrate its eighteenth version in 2025 and is already being planned with an important novelty: the traditional fair will once again be held at the Espacio Riesco convention center in the Huechuraba district.
Consolidated as the most important international exhibition and congress in Latin America, and where innovation, technology and business opportunities converge in an optimal way, Expomin has also defined its date. The event organized by Fisa, part of the GL events group, will take place from April 22 to 25, 2025 and promises to once again bring together the most important exponents of the Chilean mining industry, as well as numerous countries of reference in the sector such as the United States, Canada, Australia, Peru, China, Spain, Germany, South Africa, Switzerland, Belgium, Brazil, Argentina, among others.
This year’s edition of Expomin 2025 will seek to replicate the positive results obtained in terms of numbers in the last versions, with an average of more than 60,000 visitors, 1,200 exhibitors, 6,000 foreign delegates, more than 30 participating countries and business generated by more than US$ 1 billion in each version.
“Mining is a strategic industry for Chile and Expomin has earned its place as the most important mining exhibition in Latin America over the years. We have counted in past versions with the generous collaboration of the unions, the different companies and the participating countries, and this time we want to endorse that bond. In addition, we will be returning to a venue that has welcomed us on countless occasions”, says Francisco Sotomayor, executive director of Expomin.
Precisely, and with respect to the new location, the 2025 exhibition will innovate in terms of implementing a strong emphasis on the use of various means of transport to facilitate the arrival at Espacio Riesco and avoid the need to park a large number of private cars.
The organization points out that in view of the growth of Expomin and the development of the city, “there is no infrastructure available to withstand the confluence of more than 7,000 vehicles in a delimited area. In this sense, not only the organization, but all the participants of the exhibition have the responsibility to implement and comply with a special and robust transportation plan, which includes a broad strategy of shuttle buses from the Metro to the convention center and the transfer of different points of the capital to mobilize delegates coming from outside Chile as well as exhibitors and national visitors”. And they add that “in a complementary manner, priority will be given to access to shared parking lots for vehicles that carry all their occupants, and any concrete action that means a more fluid urban mobility in a more sustainable environment”.
In the framework of Expomin 2025, the International Congress will also be held, which will seek to reflect on issues that point towards the development of mining in the country and the increase in productivity thanks to technology and innovation.
Finally, Expomin emphasizes “the responsibility of all the actors in the sector to care for and promote a platform such as Expomin is paramount: the opportunity that national mining has today is unique. The fight against climate change and the much desired and necessary decarbonization of the planet through copper and lithium would not be possible without national mining”.
Likewise, today we started the commercial activity of the fair with the objective of reserving the first stands and sponsorships and consolidating the Layout of the exhibition.
