Expomin promotes its international meeting internationally at PDAC 2023

-The delegation of GL events Chile maintained a complete agenda of meetings with the main international actors of the mining industry, presenting the details of what will be the largest international exhibition and congress in Latin America. -At the event, public and private institutions, authorities and unions from various countries, learned the details of the meeting in Santiago de Chile, which projects the participation of more than 70,000 visitors, with the presence of more than 30 countries. The XVII International Mining Exhibition and Congress, Expomin 2023, which will take place between April 24 and 27, 2023, will be held at the Parque Fisa fairgrounds, on more than 95,000 square meters, and will bring together the main exponents of the mining industry in Latin America. This was announced by Gl events Chile from Toronto, Canada, at the professional meeting Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada 2023 (PDAC) that took place between March 5 and 8, where representatives of Expomin 2023 together with the president of the international congress Amparo Cornejo VP Teck Latin America, were able to inform about the mining meeting that expects to contribute to the technological, innovation, sustainability and economic development of our country. This year, PDAC 2023 brought together more than 30,000 investors, analysts, industry executives, geologists and government officials from more than 130 countries, who exhibited their products and services related to the industry. The event also featured an extensive program of conferences, lectures and networking, including the Ministry of Mining Seminar “Chile: Leading a journey towards traceable, transparent and responsible mining”. In the Chile Pavilion, through public and private institutions headed by the Undersecretary of Mining, Willy Kracht, such as Sonami, Consejo Minero, Cochilco, Alta Ley, Minovex, Sernageomin and ProChile and various representatives of the mining industry, the potential of Chile was shown, giving an account of the advances in the field, considering the capacity and opportunity shown by the national mining deposits, its geology, giving an account of the possibilities in investment. Rodrigo Lobo, Deputy General Manager of Fisa, and Amparo Cornejo, Vice President of Teck Latin America and President of the Expomin 2023 Congress, participated in the inauguration of PDAC 2023, in addition to organizing and attending various strategic meetings, exchanging ideas on industry trends, and discovering new technological advances, sustainability and inclusion applicable to the industry, inviting those present to be part of Expomin 2023. Similarly, the representatives of the mining meeting in Chile held meetings with important authorities and leaders of the mining industry, including the president of BHP Minerals Americas, Ragnar Udd, where they discussed the future of the industry and extended an affectionate invitation to be part of the mining meeting in Chile. “We were present as Expomin and Chile, showing the world the development of Chile in mining, seeking to contribute to relationships and links and inviting all participants to be part of the exhibition that we will hold in Santiago de Chile between April 24 and 27, 2023. We want to bring together more actors in the industry, promoting the development of mining in the region, being the meeting point where the transfer of knowledge, experiences and the offer of technologies that contribute to innovation and increased productivity in the industry will be promoted,” said Rodrigo Lobo, general manager of FISA. From the Chile Pavilion at PDAC, and together with the Chilean delegation, Lobo emphasized that “the most important thing to highlight is the presence of Chile, with the participation of the Undersecretary of Mining, Mr. Willy Kracht, the President of Sonami, Jorge Riesco, the Vice-President of Cochilco, Joaquín Morales, the Executive President of the Mining Council, Joaquín Villarino, and the President of the Expomin Congress, Amparo Cornejo. This was a great opportunity to explore the market in Canada and to reinforce Chile’s presence in mining, connecting with thousands of people and companies, inviting them to learn about Chile’s mining development and the opportunities it offers in the mining world”. According to figures from the Central Bank of Chile, Canada is to date the largest investor in mining in the country, with total investments of more than US$ 33 billion. EXPOMIN 2023 The largest international meeting in Latin America dedicated to the mining sector is organized by Fisa of the GL events Group, which will present an extensive program of activities with the active participation of the main mining companies, high technology suppliers, startups and key institutions that are part of the mining ecosystem. With the presence of more than 1,000 exhibitors from 30 countries, including Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Peru, the United States, Spain and Brazil, among others, it is estimated that more than 70 thousand professional visitors will attend. It is also projected that more than US$ 1 billion in business will be transacted during the event. The event will be held at the Parque Fisa events and convention center in the Pudahuel district, and Expomin will include an international congress with an extensive program of activities as part of the fair. Amparo Cornejo, Tech’s Vice President for South America and also president of the Expomin 2023 International Congress, will be in charge of leading the seminars and keynote speeches that will take place. This event will address relevant topics for the industry, both nationally and internationally, including innovation, development, sustainability, competitiveness, employability, gender equity, productive efficiency, renewable energies, digitalization and security, among many others. The congress will cover the main strategic issues of the sector, including Mining in the Region, Mining Challenges; Sustainability Trends and Socio-environmental Issues; Energy Efficiency in Mining: Reducing our carbon footprint; Circular Mining: Technologies oriented to waste management; Desalination Technologies: Environmental Impacts and Opportunities; Sonami’s Responsible Sourcing Committee; Presentation of copper-related projects; Presentation of Lithium, Gold and other projects; Exploration Challenges; People Development, Inclusion and Gender Equity; and Digitalization and Cybersecurity in Mining.
