
Weeks away from Expomin 2025, the fair is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events in the global mining sector. The exhibition, which will be held from April 22 to 25 at Espacio Riesco, will bring together more than 1,300 exhibitors from more than 35 countries, covering various areas within the mining industry.
The International Congress, jointly organized by Expomin and Anglo American, and led by Patricio Hidalgo, executive president of Anglo American in Chile, presented the topics of the official program, which addresses and includes the main challenges and activities of the mining industry for the present and future.
Tuesday, April 22:
After a musical experience called Vibra Clásica, at 10:45 a.m. the Inaugural Ceremony will be held at Espacio Riesco, which will be attended by important industry figures; Aurora Williams, Minister of Mining; Patricio Hidalgo, executive president of AngloAmerican and president of Expomin Congress; Johanna Kotkajärvi, ambassador of Finland and Francisco Sotomayor, CEO of GL events Chile.
After this activity, there will be an official tour by a delegation of authorities and at 13.30 an official lunch with authorities is scheduled.
At 3:00 p.m. the Plenary Panel will receive Sonami’s presentation; at 4:30 p.m. there will be an ESG presentation and a post-presentation reflection.
On that day, there will also be a citizen panel with the presence of different representatives of Chilean society. The closing will be in charge of outstanding Finnish musicians who will give life to a new musical experience.

Wednesday, April 23rd:
The second day will have various activities, which will address issues of linkage with communities, innovation, sustainability and mining technology. In this context, Zack Kass, AI futurist, consultant and former director of market strategy for Open AI, will give a presentation on Artificial Intelligence called “Where are we headed?
On the same day, Espacio Riesco will have two plenaries featuring several speakers who will address the following topics.
- Mining 4.0: The AI revolution in industry.
- AI: Redefining industries through predictive analytics.
- Generative AI and data analytics for innovation.
- Digitalization and cybersecurity.
- Business-community linkages: Towards shared development.
- Carbon neutrality in industry by 2030: Are we too late?
- Emotional well-being and occupational safety.
- Neuroscience and mining.
- Talent Development Panel.
Thursday April 24 and Friday April 25:
The last two days of the fair will address topics such as investment, permitting and environment, and presentations by Finland, the guest country of this edition of Expomin, which will offer a panel on Finland’s technical professional education model and successful cases of educational collaboration with Chile.
There will also be parallel panels on Mining Investment Funds. In the afternoon, parallel panels will analyze key topics such as Clean Energy and Decarbonization in Mining.
The day will culminate with sessions on Chile as a strategic minerals hub for the energy transition and the role of green hydrogen in the decarbonization of global mining. As a finale, the Ballet School of the Municipal Theater of Santiago will offer a special performance.
On Friday, April 25, the day will begin with a musical experience by the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Chile, which will present a sonorous journey through the history of mining. The agenda will continue with a presentation on geopolitics and global markets, followed by a panel with the participation of international mining industry leaders.
Later, infrastructure for climate change will be addressed, a topic that will be explored in depth by academic Tomás Folch in a subsequent presentation. The discussion on infrastructure will continue with a panel where experts will explore resilient solutions for the 21st century.
After lunch with CEOs and guest panelists, the afternoon will focus on public policies for sustainable growth, with the intervention of a group of experts, who will discuss the regulatory and economic challenges of the sector. In this way, the Expomin 2025 Congress promises to be a key space for the discussion and projection of the future of mining in Chile and Latin America.
Expomin 2025 will be a fundamental meeting point for the development of the mining industry of the future, generating spaces and networking opportunities, becoming a platform that contributes to the development of the industry, facilitating the exchange of ideas and new technologies to address the challenges of the mining sector.
