CePIA UdeC led by the academic Dr. Rodrigo Reeves Díaz, was born in 2014 from the QUIMAL Fund, CONICYT, for the Development of Technologies in National Astronomy, seeks to publicize the advances of the laboratory and encourage the use of its technologies in other areas. The milestone of participation in Expomin arose from the project: From astro-technology to Chilean industry, awarded by the center from the Competitiveness Fund FIC-R 2021 of GORE Biobío, which aims to link the laboratory with educational centers in the technical field; high schools, professional institutes, universities with technical careers, companies and industries. In this regard, Victoria Rodríguez Ruiz, Chemical Civil Engineer and Technical Coordinator, indicated that “CePIA focuses on the development of technologies focused on Astronomical Instrumentation and astro-engineering, however, we seek to establish technology transfer links in different areas of the country”. Expomin has established itself as a space that promotes the transfer of knowledge, experiences and especially the offer of technologies that contribute to innovation and increase the productivity of mining processes, becoming a great platform for global opportunities from Chile. In its new version from April 24 to 27, from 9.30 to 18.15 hours, CePIA UdeC will present a sample of prototypes of projects related to the development of radiometric receivers, in a permanent stand inside the FISA Park, located in the commune of Pudahuel, Metropolitan Region. Regarding the expectations of this participation, David Arroyo Reyes, Electronic Civil Engineer and Project Coordinator, emphasized that it is an instance of technological prospecting, “the objective is to raise opportunities within the mining industry, and at the same time, to show the capabilities and technologies that we develop as a laboratory. The idea is to be able to cross these opportunities with the solutions that we could achieve, generating contacts and links between actors of the mining industry and CePIA”. In the same line, CePIA UdeC participated during 2022 in Expocorma; International Fair of Wood, Pulp and Paper, and in the International Air and Space Fair, FIDAE, considered the main aerospace, defense and security exhibition in Latin America.
