From October 25 to 29, the firm of mineral waters and gourmet products with country seal, MORE CHILE, will participate in the XVI version of the main mining fair in Latin America, where it will present the MORE GREEN RECYCLE project, an environmental impact initiative that aims to reduce plastic waste in the industry to zero. MORE CHILE seeks to reduce more than 1,000 tons per month of PET plastics from mining sites Santiago, October 13, 2021.- It is estimated that in Chile the mining sector generates about 500 tons of waste per day by PET plastics, where only 15% of this waste is recycled, according to data from the Association of Plastic Industrialists, ASIPLA. If we consider that only a plastic bottle can take 400-600 years to degrade, plastic becomes a real problem for the industry. To present its environmental proposal of circular economy for the mining sector, MORE Chile – which produces 100% of spring mineral waters and gourmet products, such as extra virgin olive oils and premium wines – will be part of the XVI version of Expomin, making visible its MORE GREEN RECYCLE program, which proposes the total recovery of plastic bottles present in mining sites and other industries in order to recycle them, convert them into PET resin and manufacture new packaging. For the social entrepreneur and general director of MORE CHILE, Giselle Bracamonte, today the mining industry is focusing important efforts on managing initiatives of environmental impact and sustainable development, where ACTIONS of MORE Chile will be strategic for the mining of the future. “We know that each of the 250,000 workers in the mining industry, as a rule, must consume between 5 and 6 liters of water a day. If we look at it in quantity of containers, these exceed 1,650 tons per month. Therefore, actions like ours allow us to contribute to a more environmentally friendly mining, delivering efficient and real impact solutions by preventing more plastics from reaching landfills, through circular economy strategies”. In the instance, MORE CHILE will not only present its project in one of the most important stages of world mining, but also its products will be the hallmark of this edition, where its mineral waters will be present in all the points of hydration, talks and activities within the fair. In addition, its iconic wines and olive oils will be delivered to guests, local and international authorities, making visible the country image seal that MORE CHILE products represent. Currently, the company – through its MORE GREEN RECYCLE program – provides three mining sites in the country, managing an effective system of triple environmental, economic and community impact. In this sense, they are already advancing to generate
