Santiago, April 16, 2025 – 49 mining technology suppliers will have a unique opportunity to showcase their innovations at the upcoming Expomin 2025. For the first time, this group of entrepreneurs will be able to be part of the ChileMining METS Innovation Pavilion, an initiative jointly organized by the Ministry of Mining, Corporación Alta Ley and FISA, which aims to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in Chilean mining, giving them the opportunity to connect with major players in the sector, generate business opportunities and publicize their technological advances. The pavilion will be located at a strategic point within the fair, which will allow exhibiting companies to access a constant flow of visitors and potential clients. “Our idea is that innovation will not be an isolated space, but a transversal axis of the fair, generating more opportunities for interaction and business,” explains Francisco Sotomayor, CEO of GL events Chile and executive director of Expomin. Another of the great attractions of this Pavilion will be the Innovation Agora, an open and dynamic space where throughout the week there will be talks, presentations by experts in technology and innovation in mining, and activities focused on young talent. This space also aims to generate networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration within the mining ecosystem. “It will be a week where innovation will take over Expomin. We will have the presence of the main mining companies in the country, which will be presenting their open innovation challenges, government institutions, which will present the tools available to strengthen the development of suppliers, supplier associations, accelerators, pilot centers, among many other actors of the national mining ecosystem”, Antiza Vladilo, Leader of Local Development and Suppliers of Corporación Alta Ley, says that “at Corporación Alta Ley we are convinced that Chilean mining has an enormous innovative potential and in this challenge, suppliers are a key element to strengthen the competitiveness of the industry”. “From the Ministry of Mining we celebrate the realization of the first ChileMining METS Innovation Pavilion at Expomin 2025, a key instance to make visible the national technological talent of our suppliers and promote a more sustainable, safe and competitive mining. This initiative, the result of joint work with FISA, Corporación Alta Ley and the Mesa Nacional de Desarrollo de Empresas Proveedoras de la Minería, will allow 49 innovative suppliers to – selected through a technical and transparent process – present disruptive solutions in areas such as circular economy, environmental monitoring, digitalization and technologies applied to mining safety. With this milestone, we reaffirm our commitment to a mining industry that promotes territorial development, entrepreneurship and science and technology-based innovation throughout Chile,” said the Undersecretary of Mining, Suina Chahuán, president of the National Roundtable for the Development of Mining Supplier Companies. Along the same lines, stand 50 of the Innovation Pavilion will be occupied by the Observatory of Suppliers and High Grade Mining, where all supplier companies will be invited to register in the suppliers’ catalog and thus be able to access all the activities of the Innovation ecosystem. An unprecedented milestone in this fair will also be the day for the community, which will be held on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and whose purpose is for society to learn more about the important role played by this industry in the development of the country. On that day, the Pavilion will have as guests representatives of institutions such as Compromiso Minero, Fundación Minera de Chile, Fundación Minera Escondida, among others, who will present the work they carry out with the community. Disruptive innovations The 49 suppliers present at the Innovation Pavilion are undoubtedly great representatives of Chilean talent and their innovations prove it. Here is a preview of five solutions that will undoubtedly get people talking: ChucaoTech: offers solutions based on its nanobubble technology to improve oxygenation and water treatment in aquaculture, agriculture, mining and other industries, providing efficient and sustainable solutions. Its incorporation in mining processes improves efficiency in the extraction and treatment of minerals, reducing the use of chemicals and water. “By improving the dissolution and separation of particles, it optimizes the extraction of metals and minerals, promoting greater efficiency and sustainability by reducing the dependence on chemical products and a more efficient use of water,” Chucao Tech explains. (Stand PY-08) View Mineral: offers solutions based on artificial intelligence for mineral recognition, which can be used from a mobile application to advanced devices with HD cameras to detect various minerals in drill holes, pulp, conveyor belts and other key points of the process. (Stand PY-44) Yaku Biofilter: The Yaku® Biofilter is a unique Chilean technology (patent pending) that uses microorganisms to remove 99% of contaminants from gray water (showers, sinks and washing machines), allowing its reuse for irrigation, toilet flushing and various industrial processes. The technology is modular and flexible to field conditions, being able to be implemented in all types of infrastructure and scale. “(Stand PY-48) TERO (Cienciambiental Consultores): is an environmental information and forecasting platform that combines four scientific models to simulate the ecosystems of a salt flat, including hydrology, meteorology, vegetation and groundwater. With this they seek to estimate ultra-high definition spatial and temporal water balances for the sustainable exploitation of salt flats. “Our tool would allow estimating monthly, weekly and even daily balances through an explicit simulation of the water cycle, increasing accuracy up to 10 times,” they say. (Stand PY-09) Máfico: Pioneer in the creation of the industrial patent for the world’s first polymer concrete printer. Using advanced technologies such as Generative Design, they develop and manufacture customized 3D parts with high structural strength polymer concrete (80 MPa compressive strength), ideal for corrosive environments. “Our current capacity allows us to manufacture components up to 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.6 meters, and soon, up to 3 x 3 x 3 meters,” they explain.
