Safety is a priority for the mining industry. During the development of activities in this area, there are conditions that can influence the generation of risks for the safety and health of workers, among others, hypobaric conditions (geographical altitude), environments with silica dust, noise and metals. Moreover, current regulations require employers to ensure safe and healthy working environments through measures to prevent and protect the life and health of workers, including promotional activities to prevent the use of alcohol and drugs in the workplace. In addition to the above, the standards defined by the companies in the sector regarding occupational health evaluations and examinations for the detection of alcohol and drug consumption are also taken into account. Achs Salud responds to these high standards by offering specialised solutions through its Labour Evaluation Service (SEL), which enables it to deliver the evaluations required in the sector in a timely manner. This is evidenced by the more than 8,000 companies, both affiliated and non-affiliated, that were attended during 2024. With more than 40 years of experience in occupational health, Achs Salud has the largest network of occupational assessment centres in Chile, with 45 centres nationwide, ten of which are located in the mining area from Arica to Illapel. One of the main attributes of the Labour Evaluation Service is its digital integration model. Through the Self-Scheduling platform, employers can schedule and manage appointments, as well as access results quickly and efficiently, reducing administrative time and ensuring real-time access to information. On the other hand, SEL provides a personalised service, adapting to the specific needs of companies. In this line, this service offers the possibility of coordinating operations within the company’s vicinity or in nearby centres. It also has polyclinics on mining sites, which makes it easier to carry out examinations without disrupting the company’s operations. In a sector where safety is fundamental, Achs Salud reaffirms its commitment to the protection and care of mine workers, offering solutions that combine experience, coverage and technology.
