In the framework of Expomin 2025, which will take place between April 22 and 25 at Espacio Riesco, the organizers announced a great novelty: for the first time, the fair will open its doors on Saturday 26th in a special day designed for the community and the family. Carola Fuentes, general manager of Fisa, of GL events, organizer of the event, said that “mining is the economic engine of the country, but it is also an industry that wants to open up to the public, to show its progress and its values. Extending Expomin until Saturday 26 is a concrete way of bringing this world closer to Chilean families and especially to the new generations”. During this day, visitors will be able to explore the Mining Pavilion – an immersive experience that allows them to get to know the heart of mining – and tour the large outdoor exhibition areas, where technology and innovation will be the protagonists. This is a unique opportunity for children, young people and adults to get to know the country’s main productive activity in an educational and entertaining environment. At 10:00 am it will begin with an inauguration led by authorities and organizers of the exhibition. Community Day will have a wide variety of activities for both the general public and the children who attend: -In collaboration with Minverso and Anglo American, you will be able to visit a mine through virtual reality, participating in mine immersion simulators and machinery operation. Truck and equipment exhibition: There will be an exhibition of large-scale machinery used in mining. -Storytelling 1 and 2: at 11:00 and 13:00 hrs there will be two blocks of a narrative activity, where stories related to mining and daily life will be told. -Opening of the Mining Pavilion-Innovation Pavilion to the community. -Musical space. This opening to the community reflects one of the main objectives of Expomin 2025: to strengthen the link between mining and society, promoting knowledge and interest in an industry that, beyond its economic impact, also seeks to be part of the idiosyncrasy and sustainable development of the country.
