With a view to EXPOMIN 2025, from April 22 to 25. The Chilean mining industry is currently facing several challenges, among which are the intention to reduce environmental impacts and increasingly improve the efficiency of its production processes.

The growing world demand for copper and lithium implies an important responsibility on the part of Chilean mining to supply the necessary minerals. This, considering the importance of these minerals in terms of the growth of renewable energies and electric vehicles.

For this, technology and artificial intelligence are beginning to become part of the production processes, and the industry is open to invest and make use of them, to seek development and thus ensure the sustainability of mining for the future.

Environmental sustainability is an important challenge for the mining sector, reducing the use of paper, optimizing water resources within the mines, and also automating and enhancing production processes, as well as continuing to grow in worker safety.

AI in mining

The redefinition of mining with a sustainable outlook goes hand in hand with the emergence and use of artificial intelligence. This new technology has been applied in various industry processes, such as procurement, people management, projects, planning and safety. In this last point, the use of this technology has allowed to better identify potential risks within the production processes, helping to work in a better way in the prevention of accidents and occupational safety.

Another advantage of artificial intelligence is its ability to optimize processes, improving effectiveness and efficiency in its operations. However, it is important to emphasize the risks involved in the use of artificial intelligence, so it is essential to ensure that there is training for personnel, so that the tools provided by these new technologies are used responsibly and safely. With these technological innovations, the mining sector seeks to generate better conditions to optimize and innovate in its production processes, contributing to the sustainability and sustainability of the activity.

Expomin 2025 reunirá diversos expositores y nuevas tecnologías que buscan colaborar con una minería sustentable y sostenible.
